Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, HBO, Video,

In a clip from this week’s episode from the hit vampire series True Blood, we catch a scene in which Maryann attempts to convince Tara and Eggs that their blackouts are divine. The nerve of this woman, considering what she fed them in last week’s episode! Someone ought to kick her maenad arse already…

The episode, “I Will Rise Up,” airs Sunday night at 10 p.m. on HBO. Check out another clip featuring Jessica and Hoyt’s dinner with his cranky mother after the jump.

Golden Globe

One year after a strike-induced absence, the drinking resumed. Although the drew its usual set of followers tonight, this year’s program carried even more significance than usual. The reason? Heath Ledger.

With or without the Dark Knight nomination, the ceremony would have been interesting. Was this going to be the year a film about an Indian game show (Slumdog Millionaire) won top prize? Would either Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia, Doubt) or Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road, The Reader) walk away with two awards? Could ‘s comeback performance in The Wrestler earn him a surprise win over Sean Penn (Milk)?

To find out the answer to these questions (and many more), you can read our detailed coverage after the jump!

Shows Planning a Return in 2009

Kathy Griffin

While it’s probably be safe to assume that Fringe and 90210 would both be handed 2009 renewal notices - especially since they’ve already been given full season orders - this television season is still far too young.

Here is, though, what we do know already about next year’s programming calendar:

  • Big Brother (CBS) - Season 11
  • Entourage (HBO) - Season 6
  • Flashpoint (CBS) - Season 2
  • Here Come the Newlyweds (ABC) - Season 2
  • Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo) - Season 5
  • My Boys (TBS) - Season 3
  • Sons of Anarchy (FX) - Season 2
  • True Blood (HBO) - Season 2
